Aloha and Thanks!

One of my most pleasant tasks at NCTE this week was videotaping a thank-you message to the children of Hawai’i. The Lightning Thief won the 2008 Nene Award, voted on by students all over the state. Alas, I can’t be there in person, but the organizers sent the picture above, along with a kukui nut lei for me to wear in the video. Thank you, young readers of Hawai’i!
