News from Rick for Sept. 12

Kane in Development

Hey, guys! An exciting announcement as posted on social media concerning the Kane Chronicles: We are developing the series for feature films on Netflix! We have been working on this deal since last October, about the same time we started working on Percy, and I’m so glad I can now announce it! That’s all I can say for the moment, but stay tuned. I will try to answer some questions during the Tower of Nero tour events.

Tower of Nero tour

And speaking of the Tower of Nero tour, even though the events are virtual, attendance is capped, since each ticket gets you a signed book and a very cool gift. Because of this, events are starting to sell out. The Barnes and Noble event on Oct. 12 with Tehlor Kay Mejia is at full capacity. Several others are close to full. If you haven’t gotten tickets yet and plan on joining us, do so soon!

Each event will be different, with different guests from the Rick Riordan Presents imprint, who will apparently have (gulp) different trials for me to undertake. I am so grateful to work with so many talented, amazing authors in the imprint. Not only do they write incredible books, but they are willing to take the time to hang out with me online and do fun silly stuff like this.

The book is out Oct. 6.   The beautiful thing about the virtual tour is that you don’t have to live in the city where the event is hosted. If you have an Internet connection, you can get your ticket, attend the event, and get your signed book and special gift shipped to you. Hope you can join us! Link for details and tickets here.

Tristan Strong Destroys the World

Finally, if you can buy/read only one book that comes out Oct. 6, it MUST be Tristan Strong Destroys the World by Kwame Mbalia! Tristan’s second outing is, somehow, even more spectacular than the first. It just got another starred review from The Bulletin of the Center for Children’s Books which says, “A stunning conclusion will leave readers breathless and eager for the next installment.” Yes, I agree! Pre-order now!
